Cooking on my glass top

First off, it is hard to clean. Second, and this will keep me from ever buying one again. I use 3 large burners and one small. I couldn't find one like that when I bought this one. Makes it hard to cook a large type dinner. Have to use my air fryer/bought for this reason. And my microwave.

Overall good with a few flaws

When my kids accidentally cracked our previous electric cooktop, we needed a new one fairly quickly before the holiday. Things I like: The knobs on the side instead of in the center. They're out of the way, and the stovetop area is clear to work with. Electric stoves are always a bit slow to heat up, but this one heats to a boil more quickly than my last stove. We purchased during a sale, so it was reasonably priced even with installation by Lowe's. Two big customizable burners in front means I can have a large pot and a large fry pan active and accessible at the same time. When I don't need both big burners I can easily use the small ring for one or both instead. Things I wish were better/different: The silver knobs feel cheap in hand and show every drop, so they always look dirty unless they've been polished. The texture of the glass is more fussy to clean. I could use any glass cooktop cleaner on my last stove and polish it to a shine easily. This one calls for Affresh. I hear it works well, so I'm hopeful because my last cleaner could get all of the spots up. I can't find affresh easily in the stores near me, which means I need to order it. :( The customizable burners glow red around even smaller pans while using the smaller ring which is a bit disconcerting, and the burners are generally a bit larger than my pans. That feels a bit less safe. I'd prefer the burner to be the same size as my pan or a tad smaller. Overall it fits our needs fairly well.

Very attractive. I like having the 7 burners. Actually 5 burners including the warming burner. But two of the burners have different sizes that you can use. A large burner for larger pans and also a smaller burner for smaller pans. You can use one or the other, so if you need 4 small burners you have it, if you need larger burners, you have it. It is very easy to clean. It works so well, as it is easy to control the heat on the burners!

Have had it for a week, and for the most part it's a nice unit. I have noticed the cooking surfaces are different from the surface that surrounds it, and that surface is more difficult to clean without streaks. Also my previous cooktop was all touch controlled that overtime was not as quick to respond as the years past, so I chose this for it's control knobs. You just have to put in a bit more effort to clean around them. They are failrly easy to remove, which makes cleaning a bit easier. If it were not for the extra efforts required to clean it this would have been a 5 star rating.

Bad luck, too long for the technician

I bought this cooktop because I'm remodelig. The installation was done by a professional, everything connected correctly according to the installation manual. Only works the warm zone, the rest do not work, no matter what I do. Called customer support and I have to wait a whole week for a whirpool technician to come and check what's wrong with it or replace it. I don't know how long is gonna take. Called the store and they told me I have to wait for the technician. I guess Whirpool have a better support or warranty answer.

I looked at several replacement cooktops. I chose this cooktop because I liked the 5 burner with a warming pad & stainless steel features. There is a stainless steel strip on the front of the cooktop. Needless to say, the knobs are plastic, paid extra $$ for ™€œstainless look™€ knobs . I would have given 5 stars for stainless steel knobs. The other features are great! We are enjoying our new cooktop.

We're still in the process of converting from traditional gas cooktop to electric. We're not satisfied, again, because we have to adapted yet. There are so many disadvantages of not having the traditional gas cooktop. One that stands out, is that you have to be extremely careful not to accidentally drop any heavy pans or utensils as they may damage to cooktop. Another is when water boils over or grease platters onto the countertop, it causes heavy smoke to build up.

I™€™m remodeling my kitchen. So we wanted to upgrade our 15 year old glass cooktop to one with dual burners and a warming element. After only two weeks of minimum usage we noticed small scratches. We only use the proper cooktop cleaner and followed the instructions for cleaning in the manual. After 15 years my previous cooktop did not have this issue. Disappointed that it seems to scratch so easy. Other than the scratching issue, the cooktop is very nice. We like the dual burners and the warming element.

This cooktop is EXTREMELY difficult to keep clean. In addition, the front burners seem to have only one temperature. Once something is cooking, there is no way to turn the burners down to a simmer. I have burned more meals in the past year than I ever did in my prior 36 years of cooking. Would never purchase again.
